Hornada literally means a single oven-load of bread or pastries, but it is widely used figuratively for a 'batch' or 'crop' of people trained or graduated together — la hornada de arquitectos de los años 90 (the crop of architects from the 90s). The metaphor of items baked together in one go is very transparent to native speakers.
