Usage Note
Hidrocefalia is the medical term for the accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid within the skull, colloquially known in English as 'water on the brain'. It is treated with a surgical shunt called a derivación ventriculoperitoneal. The condition may be congenital or acquired through illness or injury.
