Also means
to engrave
Usage Note
Grabar covers both audio/video recording (grabar un vídeo) and physically engraving or inscribing (grabar en piedra, to engrave in stone). In colloquial use grabarse means to stick in one's memory (grabársele algo a alguien). Do not confuse with gravar (to tax / to burden), a common spelling trap.
Examples
"Vamos a grabar la reunión para el archivo."
Natural Translation
We are going to record the meeting for the archive.
