Fuego can mean an open fire, a burner flame (los fuegos de la cocina — the hob burners), or gunfire (fuego enemigo). ¿Tienes fuego? (Do you have a light?) is the standard way to ask for a cigarette lighter. Prender fuego (to set fire to) and apagar el fuego (to put out the fire) are key collocations. The plural fuegos artificiales means fireworks.
