Usage Note

Facturar covers two distinct domains: in business it means 'to invoice' or 'to bill' a client (facturar un millón de euros = to turn over a million euros), and at an airport it means 'to check in' luggage (facturar el equipaje). The noun factura (invoice/bill) is its root; note that in some Latin American countries factura also means a type of pastry.
