Euskera (also written euskara) is the Basque language, spoken in the Basque Country and Navarre in Spain and in parts of southwestern France. It is a language isolate — not related to Spanish, French, or any other known language. It has co-official status with Spanish in the Basque Autonomous Community. Speakers are called euskaldunes.
