Estética as a noun means the branch of philosophy concerned with beauty, or the overall visual style of something (la estética del edificio). In everyday speech it also refers to a beauty salon or cosmetic treatment (hacerse la estética). As an adjective (f. form of estético) it means 'aesthetic'. The stress falls on the antepenultimate syllable, making it an esdrújula word.
