Usage Note
Estándar is an anglicism adopted by Spanish and is now fully standard in the RAE dictionary. It is invariable — it does not add -a or change its ending for gender (el modelo estándar, la versión estándar). The plural is estándares. It can also function as a noun (el estándar de calidad).
