Estreno means the first public showing of a film, play, or other performance (el estreno de la película) and, by extension, the first time something new is worn or used (es el estreno de mis zapatos = I'm wearing these shoes for the first time). The verb is estrenar; estrenar can also mean to use or wear something for the first time.
