Usage Note

Espuma covers the foam on a beer or cappuccino, the lather of soap or shampoo, the surf on the sea, and mousse-style products (espuma de afeitar = shaving foam). The adjective espumoso means 'foamy' and also refers to sparkling wine (vino espumoso). The phrase como la espuma (like foam) describes something that grows very fast: creció como la espuma.
