Also means
Scottish (adjective)
Usage Note
Escocés functions as both noun (el escocés, 'the Scotsman') and adjective (whisky escocés, 'Scotch whisky'). The feminine form is escocesa and the plural escoceses. Note that the written accent on the singular escocés disappears in the plural escoceses because the stress falls naturally on the penultimate syllable without needing a marker — a common pattern with nouns and adjectives ending in -és.
Examples
"Mi vecino es escocés y habla gaélico."
Natural Translation
My neighbour is Scottish and speaks Gaelic.
