Usage Note

Diputados is the standard plural for members of a lower legislative chamber in Spanish-speaking countries; the body itself is called el Congreso de los Diputados in Spain. The singular diputado/diputada also works as a title. Do not confuse with senadores, who sit in the upper chamber.
