Desbordado is the past participle of desbordar used as an adjective. Literally it means a river or container that has overflowed its banks; figuratively it describes a person who is overwhelmed with work or emotion: estoy desbordado de trabajo. The reflexive desbordarse is common for rivers and for losing emotional control.
