Usage Note

Desalojar means to force or clear people out of a place — the police desalojan protesters, authorities desalojan a building before demolition. The reflexive desalojarse is less common; the noun is desalojo (eviction, clearance). It is stronger and more official-sounding than simply sacar (to take out).
