Usage Note

Combustible is the standard word for fuel (petrol, diesel, gas, etc.): el precio del combustible ha subido. In Latin America gasolina (petrol) is colloquially called nafta (Argentina) or bencina (Chile), but combustible is universally understood. The adjective combustible also means 'combustible/flammable'.
