Usage Note
Circunstancial appears most in legal and journalistic Spanish: prueba circunstancial (circumstantial evidence). It is invariable in gender but takes a plural -es: circunstanciales. Unlike its English cognate it rarely appears in casual speech, where casual or accidental are preferred.
