Usage Note

Certero describes a shot, blow, answer, or judgment that hits exactly the right mark. It differs from correcto (factually correct) and exacto (exact/precise) by emphasising directness and effectiveness — un disparo certero ('a well-aimed shot'), una crítica certera ('a spot-on critique'). The feminine form is certera.
