Usage Note
Caribeño functions as both an adjective (música caribeña) and a noun (un caribeño, a Caribbean person). It derives from Caribe, the name of the indigenous people of the region whose name also gave 'cannibal' in English via a historical confusion. The feminine form is caribeña.
