Origin: From Latin capax (able to hold, capable).
Usage Note
Capaz is invariable in gender (un hombre capaz, una mujer capaz) but forms its plural with -ces: capaces. It is followed by de + infinitive (es capaz de mentir). In colloquial Latin American speech (especially the River Plate region), the construction capaz que is used to mean 'maybe' or 'perhaps' (capaz que viene).
