Caduco describes something that has expired, lapsed, or become obsolete: a contrato caduco (expired contract) or ideas caducas (outdated ideas). For food and medicine the more common term is caducado (past the expiry date), while caduco is favoured for legal documents, rights, and deciduous trees (hojas caducas = deciduous leaves).
