Usage Note

Bereber refers to a member of the indigenous Berber peoples of North Africa, or to anything related to them including their language. Both bereber and beréber are accepted spellings in Spanish; the Real Academia Española prefers bereber. The Berber peoples often prefer to call themselves amazigh.
