Usage Note

Beneficiar can be transitive (el acuerdo beneficia a todos, 'the agreement benefits everyone') or reflexive (beneficiarse de, 'to benefit from'). The reflexive construction with de is more common in everyday speech than the bare reflexive. The noun is beneficio (m), and the adjective beneficioso/a means 'beneficial'.
