Usage Note
Báltico refers to the Baltic Sea region or the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania). As a proper adjective it is capitalized only when part of a proper noun (el Mar Báltico); in general use it is lowercase (los países bálticos). The noun el Báltico refers to the sea itself.
