adjective ah-SOOL Less Common
Origin: From Arabic lazaward, lapis lazuli (the stone).

The Arabic origin came via the gemstone lapis lazuli, making it one of the relatively rare Arabic-derived color words in Spanish. Shades include azul claro (light blue), azul marino (navy blue), and azul cielo (sky blue).
