Usage Note
Arrestado is the past participle of arrestar used as an adjective or predicate, as in 'el sospechoso fue arrestado' (the suspect was arrested). As a standalone adjective it describes someone currently or formerly in custody. Note that detener is also widely used for 'to arrest,' especially in Spain, making detenido an equally common synonym. Arrestado is more common in Latin America for police arrest.
