Aproximado is the past participle of aproximar used as an adjective, meaning not exact but close to the real figure. Un valor aproximado is an approximate value. The adverb aproximadamente (approximately) is very frequent in giving estimates: cuesta aproximadamente cien euros. Do not confuse aproximado with próximo (next/nearby).
