Usage Note

Aprehender (with h) means to physically seize or arrest someone, or in philosophy to perceive and grasp something mentally. It must not be confused with aprender (to learn), which has a different etymology and meaning. La policía aprehendió al sospechoso means 'The police apprehended the suspect.'
