aparte

apart

adverb ah-PAHR-teh Less Common

Also means

besides

Usage Note

Aparte functions as an adverb ('put it aside'), a preposition in aparte de ('apart from / besides'), and informally as an adjective ('es un caso aparte' — it's a separate case). Aparte de eso (besides that / apart from that) is very common in spoken Spanish. Do not confuse with a parte written as two words, which is rare.

Examples

"Eso es un problema aparte."

Natural Translation

That is a separate problem.
